The commentary
The Commission for Economic Affairs and Taxation (WAK-N) has proposed further steps to abolish stamp duties (droits de timbre). These were rejected by the Federal Council at its meeting yesterday. However, the Federal Council supports the demand to abolish the stamp duty at emission level. In addition, the Federal Council wants to abolish the “Droits de timbre” (Umsatzabgabe) on domestic bonds as part of the planned reform of the Anticipatory Tax, source: FTA
