The case
According to yesterday’s NZZ, mutual legal assistance with Russia will be suspended until further notice. This means that Russia will no longer receive legal assistance from Switzerland until further notice. This was confirmed by the Federal Office of Justice (FOJ) on Tuesday evening at the request of NZZ. International mutual legal assistance in criminal matters is based on respect for the rule of law and human rights. According to the FOJ, this is no longer being observed by Russia.
The UK has suspended CRS reporting with Russia (see link). In the meantime, Guernsey, Isle of Man and Jersey have also suspended exchanges with Russia.
What’s Switzerland’s position?

The commentary
I have contacted SIF concerning the CRS reporting with Russia, but have not received a reply yet. Experts assume that the FIs will have to provide data to the FTA, but this information will not be passed on to Russia. I will keep you informed.
