Last week in my Flash (07.04.2022) I warned that the US is probably also thinking of the Swiss financial industry when it comes to additional sanctions and the implementation and review with the international task force. See Commentary (07.04). – In today’s NZZ Magazin (German), the US ambassador to Switzerland, Scott Miller, says exactly the same. The Swiss financial industry should make some effort. Scott Miller warned there is more to do! «The Swiss authorities are also helping us to make it clear to the banks that the U.S. Department of Justice is involved in this matter and that there will be negative repercussions if the assets of the sanctioned individuals are not located. The US do not take this lightly,» he stressed.
