The case
Why you should do regular exerise and why doing so has nothing to do with working out to have a six-pack: A strong core does not only help when doing sports, but core muscles also help prevent overuse injuries.

The commentary
A few tendons are the reason for millions of wasted efforts: From an anatomical point of view, the dumbbell training that some people do to achieve a six-pack is solely trains the straight abdominal muscle, which is subdivided by intermediate tendons, and this is the muscle that needs to be trained.
After wrapping up in layers of clothes over winter, many people are more motivated to exercise in spring when we discard the warm wraps. With the advent of spring and lighter clothes that show your shape, people’s zeal for training boosts, and this is when some of them overdo it when they feel they can simply continue where they broke off half a year ago. Experts advise you to go for a slow but steady build-up instead. This is the regime that Swiss Federal Councillor Beat Jans has been following to keep fit.
