The case

The Art Museum in Solothurn shows paintings from different eras that reflect the seasons and the different landscapes until 23 March 2025.

The commentary

Paintings by Cuno Amiet, Ferdinand Hodler, Meret Oppenheim, Félix Vallotton and Caspar Wolf, among others, emphasise the rich and varied history of Swiss art. The artists offer a fascinating look at the changes in people’s perception and interaction with nature, cities and the interplay between art and science.

Some of these artists have fetched very high prices at auctions.
