The case

Digital Administration Switzerland (DVS) has developed a draft target vision for future federal cooperation in the field of digital administration. This vision is intended to serve as the foundation for the continued digital transformation of public administrations in Switzerland.

The commentary

The draft vision will now be submitted for consultation to the sponsors and partners of DVSm which includes the Confederation, the cantons, the Swiss Association of Cities as well as the Swiss Association of Communes. This consultation phase has been scheduled from April to September 2025. Once the consultation is complete and the feedback has been analyzed the results will be made into concrete foundations for the digital transformation of public administration.

This approach aligns with the Swiss Digital Administration Strategy for the years 2024 – 2027, which was developed in collaboration by the Confederation, cantons, cities and municipalities. The strategy outlines how the digital transformation of public administrations should be advanced within a federal structure. It defines key areas of action such as core services and infrastructure, legal frameworks, standards, digital services, digital culture and competencies as well as the continued development of intergovernmental cooperation.
