The commentary
The Capgemini World Wealth Report 2025, released today, highlights a significant rebound in global wealth among high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) in 2024. The global HNWI population increased by 2.6 % to 23.4 million, while their collective wealth surged by 4.2 % to reach USD 90.5 trillion.
The number of UHNWIs—those with at least USD 30 million in investable assets – rose by 6.2 %, outpacing the overall HNWI growth. This segment now holds over 34 % of total HNWI wealth, despite comprising just over 1 % of the HNWI population.
North America experienced the most significant growth, with the USA alone accounting for nearly 8 million millionaires. In contrast, Europe saw more modest increases, and Africa was the only region where both HNWI wealth and population declined.
An estimated USD 80 trillion in wealth is expected to be transferred intergenerationally over the next two decades. This shift is driving the demand for value-added services, with 78 % of UHNWIs considering them essential to their wealth management relationships.
