The 39 % US tariff is not simply a tax, but sheer political pressure and addressing it will require more than crisis‑management. It shouting for proactive trade diplomacy plus structural transformation. In balancing short‑term shielding with long‑term competitiveness, Switzerland can turn what feels like a headwind into a chance to modernise and reassert export strategy so it will be heading for a more diversified global presence.
