1 PICASSO FOR A MERE 100 EUROS
The case
A very unique lottery has been launched: For just € 100 per ticket, participants will have the chance to win an original Pablo Picasso artwork valued at € 1 m.
The commentary
Starting on 24 November 2025, 120,000 tickets are on offer for sale at € 100 each. Every ticket provides a unique chance of becoming the lucky owner of a genuine Picasso and contributing to scientific research on Alzheimer’s disease at the same time.
The prize is tête de femme (“Woman’s Head”), gouache on paper painted by Picasso in 1941, generously donated by Opera Gallery, which was founded by partner Gilles Dyan. The draw will be held at Christie’s Paris on 14 April 2026 at 6 p.m. under the supervision of a judicial commissioner.
