The commentary

The Japanese artist Chiharu Shiota (* 1972) weaves the world into a delicate web of threads of fate. Her internationally acclaimed works are instantly recognizable for their immersive aesthetic. Shiota captivates audiences with monumental spatial installations both in Milan and Turin. (NZZ)

Chiharu Shiota’s market grew significantly after the 2015 Venice Biennale, with top works often selling for tens of thousands, including the record sum of USD 396’580 was achieved in 2021.
