In 2026, the United States marks the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and the nation’s founding. This historic milestone offers an opportunity to reflect on the country’s journey since 1776 and the enduring principles of liberty, equality and justice that continue to shape American society.
The signing of the Declaration of Independence transformed the American Revolution into a fight for freedom. Notably, the first five US Attorneys General all served in, or were closely connected to, the Revolutionary era. USDoJ
