The commentary
After several years of strong job mobility, employees are becoming increasingly reluctant to change their jobs, a trend largely driven by slower economic growth, geopolitical tensions as well as growing uncertainty about the future. As a result, job security is now valued more highly than higher salaries or career advancement opportunities. Employee turnover has declined, and job seekers are finding it more challenging to secure new positions. At the same time, the balance of power in the labour market is gradually shifting back towards employers. While demand for skilled workers remains strong in sectors such as healthcare and specialised technical professions, competition for positions in office-based, management and IT roles has become significantly more intense.
