Data encrypted today could be stored by hackers and decrypted in the future once quantum technology becomes powerful enough.
In order to address this risk, IT companies have been adopting quantum-resistant encryption. These new encryption methods rely on different mathematical principles that are expected to remain secure against quantum attacks. Although the transition is technically challenging, making the switch early is essential to protect sensitive information in the years to come.
