Just like the National Council, the Council of States’ Legal Affairs Committee has also spoken out against the introduction of class actions. Instead, one wants the Federal Council to examine how far ombudsman procedures can be strengthened. According to economiesuisse, the Swiss economy welcomes “this constructive decision. (….) the proposal would have been a massive intervention in the established Swiss legal system.”
