This year’s theme emphasises the focus on the essential in statistical work, which is especially important amid tight budgets. The programme examines how statistical stakeholders can prioritise wisely, identify the data and analyses that benefit society most and use artificial intelligence (AI) effectively to optimise processes, speed up evaluations and produce more accurate information. This aligns with the principle of simplicity often called “Ockham’s razor”: Choose the simplest viable solution.
